What Salvation is NOT:

*Being a good person

*Church membership

*Baptism

*Association with a certain group or family

The Bible clearly states that no one will be saved because of his/her personal merit or good works.

What Salvation Is:

Trusting in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life.

What we realize and commit to:

I) Heaven is a free gift that is not earned or deserved.

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. - Romans 6:23

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. - Ephesians 2:8-9

II) Mankind is sinful and therefore no one can save himself or herself.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. - Romans 3:23

III) God is merciful and does not want to punish us, but He is also just and must punish sin.

The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love. - 1 John 4:8

…yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished… - Ex 34:7

IV) Jesus Christ is the infinite God-Man who died on the cross and rose from the dead to pay the penalty for our sins and purchase a place in heaven for us.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God…And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. - John 1:1, 14

All of us like sheep have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; but the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him. - Isaiah 53:6

V) The key to eternal life is faith (not mere head knowledge or temporal faith, but trusting in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life).

…Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved… - Acts 16:31
